Welcome to Your Weekly Phil Up
Momming is hard. Momming well is really hard.
We all want to mom well, but we struggle with lies of not being enough, not having enough, not doing enough. Your Weekly Phil Up is designed to combat those lies and instead breathe truth into your parenting efforts. Truth so that you get through this week, and the next, and the next.
When I was in the midst of the early years of parenting, the truth I leaned into was from the book of Philippians. Every time I opened that book it spoke to my heart. It spoke to the feelings of exhaustion, inadequacy, frustration, hopelessness, fatigue, or confusion that could arise on any given day of parenting.
Philippians was written by Paul while he was sitting in a prison cell. He was writing to the people living in Philippi. They were a group of people he felt fondly towards, who he wanted better for, who he believed in, who he trusted, who he cared for, who he considered friends…who he loved. He spoke truth that still stands today. Philippians is written as an example of how to respond to hardship with joy. It is said to be a description of a new way to be human.
As parents, we are all figuring out a new way to be human. I humbly ask you to let me join you on your parenting journey with truth, hope, and faith from the very place I got it when I was walking in your shoes.
